Alexia Kruger has performed a wide variety of music from the opera, oratorio, art song, choral and music theatre genres. Past roles have included Susanna and Contessa d'Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Giulietta in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, the title role in Suor Angelica, Lola in Gallantry, Marianne in Der Rosenkavalier, Eve in Children of Eden, and Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music. A member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Grant Park Chorus, and the Morning Choir at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Ms. Kruger has also been a soloist with such groups as the Bach Institute, the Illinois Chamber Orchestra, the Polish American Symphony, Grace Community Orchestra, the Valparaiso University Symphony Orchestra, the University of Illinois Percussion Ensemble, the Whirlwind Project, and the Irish-American Center in Chicago. Recent projects include the role of Mariamme in the premiere of Walt Wangerin and Dennis Friesen-Carper's oratorio The Innocents at Valparaiso University, John Harbison's Mirabai Songs with VOX 3, and a performance for the Chicago Musicians Club of Women who awarded her the Virginia Cooper Maier scholarship in their annual competition in 2007. Ms. Kruger received a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a minor in theatre from Valparaiso University and a M.M. in Vocal Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Summer programs have included the Oberlin Conservatory in Casalmaggiore, Italy, and the University of Miami School of Music at Salzburg. Currently she is in the voice studio of Tracy Watson and coaches with Dana Brown.
