Mezzo-soprano Gretchen Adams holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA), where she studied with David Holloway.  At CCPA, she appeared as L’enfant in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges and a Woman in the Wall in the Chicago première of Ronald Perera’s opera, The Yellow Wallpaper.  She also studied and performed roles including Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.  Adams spent several years as a soloist and corps member with the Salt Creek Ballet Company, and is an alumnus of the Bay Area Summer Opera Theatre Institute and the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy.  She has presented several recitals at Chicago’s Fine Arts Building, and recently sang works of Kauder, Ferrante, and Bornhardt as part of VOX 3 Collective’s chamber music recital “No Pianos Allowed.”
